Reconditioning Service

Karl W. Schmidt & Associates offers a unique on-site service to bring your equipment up to certified specifications. Many of our customers, after long-term usage, want to maintain and bring their equipment back to life.

Conveyors

Conveyor(s)
Ensure frame(s) and support structures are structurally and mechanically sound. Bolts, nuts, welding, guards and structural alignment are at or exceeding OSHA standards. Noted on findings documentation.
Belting
Make sure belting has end of life dates and or replacement cycles established. Noted on findings documentation.
Take Up Assembly
Evaluate all components (bearings, shafts, sprockets) to make sure they are up to OEM specifications. Noted on findings documentation.
Conveyor Head Section
Evaluate all components (bearings, motor, gear box, sprockets) to make sure they are up to OEM specifications. Noted on findings documentation.

Eddy Currents & Magnets

Eddy Current Frame(s)
Ensure frame(s) and additional components are structurally and mechanically sound. Bolts, nuts, welding, hoppers and structural alignment meet or exceed OSHA standards. Noted on findings documentation.
Eddy Current Rotary Head Pulley
Evaluate fiberglass and make sure it’s not cracked. Noted on findings documentation.
Magnet Frame(s)
Ensure frame(s) and additional support structures are structurally and mechanically sound. Bolts, nuts, welding, and structural alignment meet or exceed OSHA standards. Noted on findings documentation.
Eddy & Magnet Electrical Components
Adjust timing and make sure OSHA standards are met or exceeded.

Optical Sorter(s)

Optical Sorter Conveyor Frame(s)
Ensure frame(s) and additional components are structurally and mechanically sound. Bolts, nuts, welding and structural alignment meet or exceed OSHA standards. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Conveyor Take Up Assembly
Evaluate all components (bearings, shafts and tail pulley) to make sure they are up to OEM specifications. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Conveyor Head Section(s)
Evaluate all components (bearings, motor, and head pulley) to make sure they are up to OEM specifications. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Conveyor Belting
Make sure belting has end of life dates and or replacement cycles established. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Sensors & Light House
Test sensors & light house to ensure customer standards are being met. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Valve Box
Test valves and make sure each valve is firing correctly up to OEM specifications. Ensure that the “service unit” is working. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Air Filter(s)
Look at the filter to make sure that it’s working correctly and place an end of life date on it. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Air Conditioning Unit(s)
Test settings against the customer environment to make sure the optical sorter is optimized to current environment.
Optical Sorter Software
Document and make recommendations on current version of operating software. Noted on findings documentation.
Optical Sorter Electrical Components
Evaluate all electrical components to ensure OEM standard specifications are being met. Noted on findings documentation.

Screening Equipment

Frame(s)
Ensure frame(s) and additional components are structurally and mechanically sound. Bolts, nuts, welding, hoppers and structural alignment meet or exceed OSHA standards. Noted on findings documentation.
Hydraulics
Test motion and make sure the units are not leaking. Noted on findings documentation.
Replacement Parts
Evaluate sprockets, bearings, chains, motors, star screens and shafts. Noted on findings documentation.

System Controls

Software
Review and note current version and make sure the controls are up-to-date. Noted on findings documentation.

Pneumatic Equipment

Cylinders
Assess the cylindrical components to make sure there are no leaks, broken parts and that the air supply is working correctly. Noted on findings documentation.

Document Findings

On-site Documentation
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates will document all equipment being evaluated to ensure the deliverable findings and proposed process meets each customer’s needs.

Proposed Process

Deliverables
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates will summarize the on-site evaluation and the process to recondition the equipment.
Proposal & Scope of Work
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates will provide costs associated with the evaluation to recondition the equipment as a scope of work based on the evaluation.

Reconditioned Equipment

Scope of Work
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates will base their process on the agreed and documents scope of work.
Workmanship
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates will provide certified technicians to recondition all equipment under the scope of work.
Change Orders
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates is flexible and understands that changes need to happen. We are open to discuss and make changes to the proposal and scope of work when needed.
Final Approval
Karl W. Schmidt & Associates will complete the scope of work outlined curing the approval process. Final approvals will be met based on that scope prior to leaving.
