- Plasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) — juice containers
- High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) — milk jugs
- Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) — plastic soda bottles
Construction & Demolition Recycling
Plastic recycling is one of the most established recycling industries, and we at Karl W. Schmidt have been building fine machinery to support plastics recycling for years. Recycling plastics is good for the environment and good for the economy, and we’re proud that we can make a contribution to the cause.
Plastic recycling is huge. In 2009, 2.5 billion pounds of plastic bottles were recycled, which represented 28% of the plastic bottles used. And it’s not surprising that a lot of plastic is recycled; recycling is good business. When an operating room in Wisconsin hospital decided they would start recycling polypropylene surgical sheeting, they diverted five tons of sheeting in one month, which was 6% of the hospital’s total waste for the month. This represented an annual savings for the hospital of $13,000.
Our belt conveyors and chain convoys contribute to both the holistic environmental good, as well as the wellbeing of the organization that uses them. We can provide plastics recycling material handling systems for operations of any size. Our designs are simple to install and extremely durable.
